Pray, Uncaged Adventures

Panama update #1

Hello friends,

Unless you've heard otherwise, we've made it safely to Panama. For the latest updates be sure to keep up with us on twitter and instagram. @bluebirduncaged. Here's what we'll be up to the next few days:

Today we're traveling to David, Chiriqui to work with Alas de Angel. We will be conducting workshops to to help students with their modern/contemporary technique.

In addition to being a part of several worship gatherings, we'll also be performing in a festival at the Chiriqui Mall.

We are so thankful for Maricela and Alas de Angel for not only reaching out and taking care of us while in Chiriqui but also for her pioneering and courageous obedience in using dance to make Jesus famous.

Prayer points:

  • creative collaboration and encouragement between Maricela, her team, and Bluebird: uncaged
  • smooth organization and details coming together
  • the love, hope, and freedom of Jesus will be manifest in our dancing as He brings hearts to life.

This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. He gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way, so that you can be generous in every way, producing with us great praise to God. Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters, and really toward everyone. Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they’ll respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need. Thank God for this gift, his gift. No language can praise it enough! ~2 Cor. 9:10-15 MSG

We're headed to Panama today! Woohoo!!

V1-01-1

This week has been a blast in the studio choreographing, team building, laughing, seeking Jesus, and getting to know each other. These girls bring so much creativity, passion, and joy to the table and we're excited to be taking four original works to premiere in Panama. Huge thank you and shout out to our sponsors, Sawnee School of Ballet and Still Pointe Studios for generously donating studio space to our team!

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms…so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. ~1 Peter 4:10-11

indiegogo update-thank you

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for being a part of the White Umbrella campaign; it has been quite the journey. Y'all are seriously the best, it's encouraging to know that we have people behind this project as expectant as we are. Thank you.

Even though we did not meet our goal, the project is still happening and we are so excited to get to work on it. As of right now, we are aiming to film in mid-August and release the trilogy online late fall (an installment per month). We will definitely keep you posted.

We are heading out of the country on Tuesday on our second Uncaged Adventure to Panama. We will get to work on sending out your perks as soon we get back (July 15).

Gratefully,

the Bluebird: uncaged team

Coming down to the last week.  This journey has been quite the ride so fare and I'm looking forward to finishing strong.

In these last 6 days I'm choosing to believe that regardless of the number (even though it would be really cool to exceed our goal), Jesus knows best how this project will most glorify Him.

Thank you for everything you guys have done so far. Honored to carry this project with y'all. Keep up the social media shares–twitter, Facebook, instagram…

With many thanks,

Rebekah

And God who is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed…Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multipy your seed for sowing and increase your harvest of righteousness… ~2 Corinthians 9:8,10

Meet the 2014 Panama team: Kelle Diaddigo

Kelle Diaddigo is the curator of Bluebird: merch and the only non-dancer joining this year's team.  With a true servants' heart, she has been our biggest fan from the beginning and is always there to cheerfully lend a hand while offering wisdom and encouragement. Follow her on twitter and instagram @kellediaddigo

Mommy!

Q. What is your favorite dance memory?
A. My favorite dance memory would be when my daughter's ballet teacher told me she was casting her as Clara. She had wanted to dance that role for "years" and I knew how happy it would make her. As the teacher was telling me she showed me a new prop she had just bought for Nutcracker that year- a full size carousel horse. Carousel horses had been a ' golden thread' for me as I had found one in an antique store before I ever had children and really wanted it. We also read the storybook ' Watercolor Ponies' by Wayne Watson to her when she was younger, along with my husband gifting me with a carousel horse music box to mention a few.

Q. If you were a super hero, what would your power be?
A. to be able to be in multiple places at once.

Q. What advice do you have for younger dancers?
A. being a ballet mom and not a dancer I would have to say- enjoy everyday in ballet- whether it's at the barre or in the theatre or at a summer intensive. All of those moments make up the story of the ballet part of your life. Try not to get caught up in how you measure up to the ballerina next to you or the next level and don't let another girls drama ruin a joyful time in the theatre. God has you in the palm of his hand- he is big enough to write that story.

"So excited to be able to be traveling with such a stellar group of dancers. They are a delight to walk alongside."
