The first time I heard Beautiful Things by Gungor was on a video for Haiti relief. I got a little misty eyed. A few months later, I thought I should start choreographing again. Beautiful Things was my inspiration.
A few weeks after I started choreographing (that is: playing around in the studio by myself), the opportunity came up to set a piece for spring concert. I was hesitant at first so I asked a few friends what they thought. The answer was an enthusiastic yes.
So, I chose my cast and got to work. Later, as the whole idea for Bluebird was taking shape. Daddy suggested I make a video of the piece. Hmm, ok, I’ll try it.
This was the first step in taking Bluebird from a dreamy idea to a reality.
Though the video may be out of post-production, the Beautiful Things Project has just begun…
